Few in Lund are untouched by Helgo Zettervall's buildings. For some it is an active involvement in the architect's work in the city. But for most Lund residents it is pure coincidence.
You may have looked at the magnolias blooming at the University Building and Palestra et odeum or been to a concert at All Saints' Church, maybe cycled to the Monument over the Battle of Lund with the school, pushed a stroller past the Observatory in the City Park or maybe even stood outside the Cathedral and looked up at the "Lunnapågarna". All of these are the work of architect Helgo Zettervall. And the list could go on.
"Helgo was here", and he did not pass the city unnoticed. Today, many of us are happy and proud of the buildings he designed for Lund, but he has not always been spoken of warmly.
The tour lasts 1 hour, where we spend 20 minutes at Allhelgonakyrkan and 20 minutes at the west facade of the Cathedral. There will be a leisurely walk down Allhelgonakacken and through Lundagård, where we will pass some of the houses and institutions he designed. However, we will not delve into these, but focus on the church buildings.
Showings take place on Thursdays at 1:00 PM during the summer: July 9, 16, 23 & 30 and August 6.
