"Yé" means water. The basis of all life. The most fundamental for our survival as well as a scarce commodity for many people around the world. In the performance Yé, the struggle for water is portrayed with water bottles as the only props on stage. Through powerful acrobatics and pulsating dance, Circus Baobab evokes thoughts about the climate crisis and man's role in it. A performance about how we mutually build up and knock each other down, how we cooperate and how we collapse. Can we share?
About the Company:
Circus Baobab was founded in 1998 in Guinea with the ambition to create a future for young people who did not have the opportunity to go to school. With the performance Yé ! they have achieved great success worldwide. Alongside its work with tours, the company also works socially in Guinea to strengthen the conditions of children and young people.
