Join Kulturens guide on a tour of our new interior on the second floor of the Dean's House. Here we have recreated a priest's residence from the 1500th century.
The Dean's House represents a medieval residence for deans and canons, who were priests working in Lund Cathedral. That is why the building was named Dean's House. The house was moved from Kyrkogatan in Lund to the Kulturens Friluftsmuseum in 1908, and was thus preserved.
Since the house has had a long-standing connection to the clergy who were active in the cathedral, we have chosen to furnish the upper floor as a priest's residence, a work that has been ongoing in 2024–2025. Based on historical images from the first half of the 1500th century and preserved medieval furniture, we have attempted to recreate a priest's home from the beginning of the 1500th century on the upper floor of the house. This interior is only available via booked viewings.
