VINTERSONG-a Nordic Winter Concert
Perhaps one of the most beautiful Christmas concerts of the year! Sweden meets Norway in a shared Scandinavian winter atmosphere as Christmas approaches. The Swedish duo HazeliusHedin with nyckelharpa, cittern and vocals meets the Norwegian Sigrid Moldestad on Harding fiddle and vocals. All are known for their way of conveying the strong stories and melodies found in the Nordic folk music tradition. It will be a concert with winter carols and Christmas songs, tradition and renewal, and with personal encounters that warm us in the dark season.
Esbjörn Hazelius and Johan Hedin are among Sweden's biggest folk music stars and are known for their heartfelt songs and brilliant string playing. The duo tours the Nordic countries and the world, and has released four albums together over the years. Their interplay hits a nerve that makes the music captivating and touching. The same can be said of Sigrid Moldestad, who has toured extensively with her own band and made several albums during her career, most recently the album “Tonen i meg” which came out last winter. She has toured with the Christmas concert “Vintersong” for several years, often with different and unique ensembles. This is the fourth time together with the Swedish duo Hazelius Hedin, with tours in both Norway and Sweden.
