Galleri cozmo opens the season on August 29 and welcomes Maria Jokitalo. The exhibition has been given the title "Vandringar" and here Jokitalo presents his painting where three points of departure are intertwined: Nornan - Family album - Raggsockarna. This is what the artist says about these three themes:
"Nornan - the goddess of fate who knits life's destinies. Threads form braids and fantastic patterns, an endless web of life events. Photos in family albums - a few moments from these chains of events of meetings. With some repetitions, tangles and inherited knots. The rag socks - all the steps that are walked. Mother's knitted care warms and softens the steps."
Maria Jokitalo (b. 1978) graduated in 2011 from the Royal Academy of Arts. She has since shown her works in several solo and group exhibitions and carried out public commissions and sculptures. More about the artistry at www.mariajokitalo.com
