VERNISSAGE – Jens Henricson “WIND EATER. Toolkit for interruption”

Welcome to the opening Thursday 21 November & Friday 22 November, at 16 – 19 pm both days!
In the gallery room, we are met by Jens Henricson's installation in the form of prototypes, photos and drawings. Henricson reports here a project where he developed a device that can attract swifts, which are a red-listed species, to build their nests in its vicinity.

If this succeeds, the tower sailor's establishment can trigger a chain reaction of measures that can affect urban planning. The presence of a red-listed species makes it difficult or impossible for urban developers to build on the site. The discussion about the citizen's ability to influence, versus the rights of an endangered species, is brought to a head.

The exhibition runs until January 23, 2025.

About the artist:
Jens Henricson is a multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in Malmö. Common to Henricson's various projects is an interest in how we shape our identity. The projects deal with themes that are based on one's own experiences, where thoughts about how things, memories, emotions, myths and stories convey meaning to us humans are central.
Henricson is involved in Konstnärscentrum Syd and also runs Woodpecker Projects, a production and publishing platform with a focus on artists' books.
