Lund Art Gallery June 7 – August 31, 2025
Opening Friday, June 6th, 18-20pm

Lund Art Gallery's summer exhibition highlights three current and successful artists with connections to Sweden: Tarik Kiswanson (b. 1986 in Halmstad, stay in Paris), Fatima Moallim (b. 1992 in Moscow, lives in Malmö) and Lisa Tan (b. 1973 in Syracuse, New York, residing in Stockholm).

Their diverse artistic expressions reflect the diverse range of the contemporary art scene. However, a unifying feature is how the artists' own experiences of place and time emerge in their productions, something that also deepens the understanding of the diversity of voices that make up today's society.

Also unifying is their relationship to writing and text, which is underlined by the exhibition title. 3 summers. It is borrowed from the Canadian author and poet Lisa Robertson's book from 2016, which describes how experiences and memories are stored across generations. To formulate and convey such stories, the artists use forms of expression such as text, drawing, sculpture or film. The works in the exhibition show how we are constantly in motion between the present, past and future, and that what we experience as something close or subjective is also part of a larger cultural and geographical context.
