The world's largest mountain film festival comes to Lund

The internationally acclaimed Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour returns and opens its tour in Lund on October 1st.
At Lund City Theatre, eight award-winning films about mountain culture, adventure and nature experiences from around the world will be shown starting at 18:30 PM.

A sure sign of autumn is when the Banff Mountain Film Festival, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, embarks on a world tour. The festival is the world's leading film competition focusing on experiences, environment, culture and sports in mountain environments. It has been held annually since 1976 in Banff, Alberta, Canada. From over 400 international submissions, winners and audience favorites are selected for a global tour that then visits over 600 cities, in more than 50 countries, with over half a million visitors. The festival lands in Lund on October 1.

– The Banff Mountain Film Festival is a celebration of mountain culture with moving, magnificent and sometimes unexpected films from the world's most spectacular mountain environments. Filmmakers from all over the world contribute stories of adventure, sport, traditions, nature and people who live in or seek out the mountains. By increasing our understanding of the multifaceted mountain culture, the festival wants to inspire both appreciation of and care for these unique environments, says Adrian Nordenborg, organizer of the screenings in the Nordics.

Each screening evening includes a break where the audience has the chance to mingle and visit local exhibitors.

– It is incredibly fun to see how interest in the festival grows steadily year after year. We also notice that the festival audience does not only come for the films, but also for the community and the opportunity to meet others with an interest in outdoor life, adventure and nature, says Adrian Nordenborg from Pathfinder Travels.
