Welcome to a variety show that is unlike anything you've seen before.
The performance is created by and with members of Lund's Fontänhus – people who have lived with mental illness for a long time and who now make it their superpower.
With humor, body, words and chaos, Variety Functional on metamorphoses, world records, nail mats, chin dances, imitations and barbecue skewers in the brain. It's circus, it's therapy, it's revolt. It's a scenic explosion of experiences, diagnoses and dreams - where each number is an attempt to understand, survive and laugh at what otherwise hurts.
The performance is based on the participants' own stories and is an attempt to create a platform for conversations about mental health, exclusion and what it means to be human in a society that often lacks patience.
Variety Functional is not just a show. It is a statement. An exclamation point. An attempt to take a place – with everything that is functional, idiosyncratic and unique.
