The exhibition Kabinett Ett features a multitude of characters. They populate Celander's drawings that fill both walls and sketchbooks, as well as the texts collected in a fanzine specially produced for the exhibition. Come and let yourself be enveloped by the voices of a highly personal universe.
Anna Celander is an artist, poet and paper conservator. Learning, desire and presence are the key words in her artistry. She draws to give silence lines and sounds shape. She writes to give words/language space, life, color-contour.
Emma Tornborg has a doctorate in literary studies and researches intermediality, among other things. Together with Anna Celander, she will discuss the interaction between text and image during the opening.
No Suits in Miami is an indie pop band from Lund. After a couple of years of silence since their album “Nothing ever happens” was released on the prestigious record label Shelflife, they are back with the single “Crying at the Club”. They will treat us to an acoustic set during the opening night.
During the exhibition period, you will also be able to buy hand-bound sketchbooks from Sankt Annegatan's bookbindery, in case the characters you have inside yourself should pop up.
