And when I say you are dreaming, I am dreaming too
25 May-30 June
Vernissage Saturday 25 May at 13-16
The artist Ingvild Hovland Kaldal, born in 1985 in Trondheim, Norway, lives and works since 2011 in Malmö. In the exhibition And when I say you are dreaming, I am dreaming too shows Kaldal a new work with the title 2001: A Space Odyssey for Flute. Hovland Kaldal mainly works with drawing and sculpture in materials such as wool, clay and charcoal. The basis for her work is an intuitive approach where she examines the relationship between body, drawing and sculpture, a method linked to ideas about memory and the subconscious.
Ingvild Hovland Kaldal is educated at the Academy of Arts in Malmö (MFA/2015) and Akademin Valand (BA/2009) in Gothenburg. She is also current with the exhibition A Spoon Passing the Moon in the Konstnärshuset in Stockholm.
Kim Westerström, born in 1979, is active in Malmö. He is educated at the Valand Academy in Gothenburg and the Art Academy in Copenhagen. Westerström works with photography and sculpture where the essence of photography, its very basic condition – the light – is central. How light creates an impression of time in different materials is constantly recurring in his works.
In the exhibition in Krognoshuset, Kim Westerström shows a series of newly produced works.
It is a series based on photographs from the Glyptoteket in Copenhagen and the History Museum in Lund. The images are photographed with an iPhone and then manipulated in FaceApp. The photographs are printed and photographed in black and white analogue film. Westerström also shows the series In The White of The Eye consisting of two black and white photographs.
