All by Myself
Dana Sederowsky
Krognoshuset, Lund
14 October – 10 December 2023
Welcome to the opening on October 14 between 13.00 and 16.00. The same day is also Art Weekend and Krognoshuset is open between 17-22 pm.
In the solo exhibition All by Myself at Krognoshuset, Sederowsky shows newly produced works that want to investigate the phenomenology of self-chosen solitude.
Sederowsky approaches solitude as a state that provides space for reflection and independence, a state that is not an expression of weakness, but rather strength.
Dana Sederowsky (b. 1975 in Helsingborg) lives and works in Malmö, is educated at the University of Photography and Film and at the Valand College of Art, University of Gothenburg (now HDK-Valand – College of Art and Design). Since the end of the 90s, she has participated in a long series of exhibitions, both in Sweden and internationally, for example in a solo exhibition at Dunkers Kulturhus, Helsingborg (2017), Göteborgs Konsthall (2015) and Fotografiska, Stockholm (2014).
In 2022, Sederowsky published his fiction debut Separated, in English translation Black , published by Art and Theory publisher. In the book, the reader follows a character who actively opts out of society. A character who refuses to need anyone but himself. A detailed life in total social isolation is described here. Slowly, reality begins to unravel.
