Under the olive tree – about our hungry soils from Tuscany to Skåne.
Håkan Wallander is a professor of soil biology at Lund University and one of Sweden's leading experts on soil, humus, and soil ecology and nutrition. He is a frequent contributor to the media and has previously contributed to a number of popular science books. Håkan will talk about his experiences growing olives in Tuscany but will also share experiences from his research on soil formation on the volcanic island of Surtsey off the coast of Iceland.
