Two small white balls of celluloid with blue stripes

When the silence becomes deafening.

"Well, then you were at home. And you've already got into the annoying habit – or rather the unhabit – of talking out loud to yourself. But what do you do when there's no one to talk to, no one to listen to, no one to witness this life, in this room."

Based on a short story by Franz Kafka, Gothenburg's Dramatic Theatre has interpreted the somewhat absurd story of Blumfeld. The play was previously dramatized by Allan Edwall, who gave the piece the title Better without a dog, here it is renamed to Two small white balls of celluloid with blue stripes.

The performance was put together by Kafka connoisseur Hans Blomqvist, who is also in charge of directing.
