THURSDAY JAZZ – Edsteps

Edsteps is a newly formed quartet that plays original music written by saxophonist Ed Epstein, recruited with songs from the American jazz scene of the 50s and 60s. The group's chordless arrangement with trumpet, saxophone, double bass and drums creates an openness in sound and improvisations, which contributes to a playful interaction. Since moving to Sweden in the 70s, Ed has established himself as a multifaceted musician and arranger on the Swedish jazz scene and has built up a solid CV over the years with some of the country's biggest acts. Fredrik Davidsson is also a well-established trumpeter who can be heard with, among others, Monday Night Big Band, Lars Beijbom's Orchestra Six, and numerous albums.
Kristoffer Rostedt and Andreas Henningsson are the anchors of the Malmö band Makross, among others, and are among the region's foremost groove makers.
