Franz Schubert's songs are permeated by streams, rivers and seas. The flows and movements of the waters are grateful to imitate musically and at the same time function as signs for the passage of time and the dissolution of eternity, for what is essential to life but also life-threatening, for sparkling surfaces over dark depths. The evening's lecturer is Axel Englund, professor of literary studies at Stockholm University and leading researcher on the relationships between words and tone. We will also hear songs by Schubert with Joakim Larsson and pianist Markus Kvint.
