The Weather Station

The Weather Station to Mejeriet – current with acclaimed album Humanhood

The Weather Station, led by Canadian Tamara Lindeman, has been one of the most independent voices in the alternative folk and pop world since its inception in 2006. Earlier this year, her seventh album was released Humanhood – one of her most affecting and ambitious to date.

“I've gotten used to feeling crazy – or just lazy,” she sings on the opening track “Neon Signs,” in a voice that both whispers intimately and shouts in desperation.

Humanhood is a genre-crossing journey where Lindeman moves between sweeping soundscapes, jazzy trumpets and flute, with arrangements that feel as cinematic as they are heartfelt. The album has been described as her most experimental – but also her most cohesive, as a mapping of an inner state.

After the breakthrough in 2021 with Ignoring – a personal and poetic reflection on the climate crisis – Lindeman suffered a silent mental crisis. On Humanhood She channels this into music that moves between the distant and the claustrophobic, the vulnerable and the grand. The inspiration from Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan remains, but here you can also hear echoes of Fleetwood Mac, Talk Talk and Roxy Music.

Humanhood was recorded with an improvisational band that shapes each track into something alive, fragile and magnificent. On November 5th you have the chance to experience The Weather Station live at Mejeriet.
