Since the Taliban's return to power in August 2021, Afghanistan has faced severe isolation and a worsening economic and humanitarian crisis. Human rights, especially for girls and women, have declined sharply, with strict limits on political and media freedoms. Cuts to foreign aid have deepened poverty, increased unemployment, and reduced access to essential services. Now, the international community as a whole, donor countries and regional leaders must consider how to address Afghanistan's situation, as the Taliban is likely to remain in power for the foreseeable future.
This seminar is in English.
You will learn:
The international community's responsibility continues even after military troops leave or embassies close.
Human rights remain important in Afghanistan.
Anyone can be a voice for those who are silenced or can't speak out.
