Thrash metal legends Testament are back – one of the bands that not only defined the rise of Bay Area thrash in the 80s, but have also consistently shown how the genre can evolve without losing its essence. Since their debut “The Legacy”, Testament has been synonymous with technical precision, uncompromising heaviness and songwriting that combines aggression with musical finesse. Last year they released the album “Para Bellum” and now they are bringing Metal Church and Armored Saint to Sweden and Mejeriet in August.
With Chuck Billy's distinctive and powerful voice at the front, Eric Peterson's riff-driven foundation and Alex Skolnick's virtuoso guitar playing, Testament has time and again set the bar for modern thrash metal. They have never been content to live on old credentials, on the contrary, they have consistently continued to deliver relevant and hard-hitting albums. Last year's highlight "Para Bellum" was characterized by an almost merciless energy.
Live, Testament is a textbook example of why they are considered the absolute top of the genre: tight, brutal and with a setlist that ranges from timeless classics to new, explosive material. This is thrash metal at its most vital – deeply rooted in history, but with its eyes firmly on the future.
Joining the tour are Metal Church, one of US metal's most respected names, known for their raw energy and classic craftsmanship, and Armored Saint, American heavy metal icons who have delivered powerful, melodic metal with both weight and heart since the early 80s.
Three bands. Decades of metal history. An evening that no metal fan wants to miss.
The concert is arranged by FKP Scorpio & Mejeriet.
