As part of Lund University, science and research are close to our hearts. In our collection there are many examples of artists who have approached science and research in different ways in their art. Raoul Dufy depicted the history of the emergence of electricity by depicting the natural phenomena and scientists who contributed to it. Robert and Sonia Delaunay named their entire art style simultanism after the optical phenomenon of simultaneous contrast. Lea Porsager was inspired by the 2017 Nobel Prize in Physics when she was going to create a memorial for the victims of the 2004 tsunami disaster. Join us on a guided themed tour and we will tell you more!
The exhibition is part of a series of themed exhibitions where we highlight works from the Skissernas Museum's collection to talk about the ideas, processes and contexts behind them. Each exhibition opens up new interpretations with different perspectives and entrances and deepens the encounter with art.
The show lasts 30–45 minutes.
