Telenova embarks on its biggest tour yet! The Time Is A Flower International Tour comes alongside the announcement of their debut album 'Time Is A Flower' (released 16th August) and the release of brand new single 'Power'. Taking his distinct brand of cinematic alt-pop to the dance floor, 'Power' is a smooth and evolved disco with a dark twist, weaving themes of love, fear and the pursuit of light into a lush, ornate track full of tension and drive . With influences from acts like Portishead and Massive Attack to Lana Del Rey and Mitski, the band creates a soundscape that is both familiar and refreshingly unique.
A web of dark romanticism, supple musicianship and vibrant aesthetics have fueled the Melbourne-based group since their debut EP Tranquilize in 2021. Driven by the all-encompassing lead single Bones, alongside the sweeping soundscapes of follow-up EP Stained Glass Love, Telenova has been passionately embraced at home and overseas, thanks to support from BBC6, KCRW, Vogue Paris, NME, Clash Mag, Radio X and more.
Acquaintances in their home country naturally followed, including the 2022 Breakthrough of the Year award from AIR, appearances on Triple J's Hottest 100, multiple sold-out tours and appearances on major festival lineups across Australia, building a dedicated audience and widespread appreciation. In 2023, Telenova played to over 15 people in Europe, with their own shows and as a support for RUEL, in anticipation of their festival debut in Europe in 000.
Telenova's distinct universe – shadowy, sample-driven alt-pop with clear trip-hop and electronica influences, plus a touch of playful energy – is created by Filipina-Australian singer, songwriter and filmmaker Angeline Armstrong and multi-instrumentalists Edward Quinn and Joshua Moriarty.
