Are you present in the moment now? Is your screen time less than 3 hours a day? How are you feeling now that you've ended up in the Instagram swamp again? Did you really follow what happened here? Someone who didn't follow at all what her boyfriend was trying to say is Lucy in the opera The Telephone by Gian Carlo Menotti. Others who daydream too much and act too badly are the couples Geraldine and David and Sally and Bill in A hand of Bridge, by Samuel Barber. If you want to follow along, you'll have to put your phone away now, because we only have 35 minutes with these two gems of opera that will show that opera can actually be really fun.
Pop up opera is a newly started, young ensemble with singers who met at the Malmö Academy of Music. During the evening, we offer two chamber operas that were originally written for TV in the 1950s and smaller chamber ensembles. Between the two operas, we offer a concert program with famous opera arias.
