The SARA school is visiting Kulturen in Lund! The Swedish Academy of Realist Art is a traditional art school in Simrishamn that teaches classical methods in realistic art. The school runs full-time education for adults during the academic year, and in the summer offers shorter courses for both children and adults.
This summer, SARA will be coming to Kulturen in Lund and will be holding three courses for children aged 10–17. Two weekend courses on July 5–6 and August 2–3, as well as a four-day course on July 28–31.
Try out classic methods in realistic drawing! For those between 10-17 years old who love drawing and want to learn how to depict your subjects realistically. We will start step by step by first copying simpler lithographs by the artist Charles Bargue and then drawing something from life – still life and portrait with a model (only the four-day course week 31). The focus will be on building a good foundation with correct proportions and simple shading by carefully observing and measuring our subjects. We use pencil and charcoal – materials included. No prior knowledge is required, everyone can learn something to take with them on their artistic journey!
– Saturday and Sunday, 13-16 pm with coffee break.
– Saturday: Introduction and copying of Bargue lithography to learn the basics of drawing methods.
– Sunday: Bring your own object from home or choose one from our collection that you will carefully draw using the same methods you learned the day before.
Material: Bargue: graphite. The rest: charcoal and chalk.
Ticket price: 600 SEK per person for 2 days. Max 8 seats.
