Beginner knitting course (in two parts), for those who want to learn the basics of knitting.
We will go through the following: - different yarn qualities - yarn and knitting needles and how they fit together - two different lay-ups - different cast offs - increases in yoke and in raglan - knit and purl stitches and how you can combine these to create patterns.
No prior knowledge is required except curiosity and willingness to learn.
The course is on two occasions: On the first occasion, we go through all the steps and you are given time to lay out and knit a sample patch. And you get a little homework that is followed up on the second occasion. On the second occasion, we pick up those who need more help and for those who have come a little further, we give you new challenges. The course also includes the book Knitting step by step (value SEK 259), with basics and various techniques in knitting as well as some patterns.
Take with you: - circular knitting needle in any size, a modern knitting needle and not grandma's old inherited one - yarn, preferably wool yarn - notebook and pen
If you lack yarn or knitting needles, they can be bought at the time of the course
Location: The Lab by Tant Hulda at Stora Gråbrödersgatan 12 (opposite store Tant Hulda)
Time: Thursday 9 November and Thursday 30 November at 18.30-21.00
Price: SEK 950/participant, coffee and course book included.
