Thousands of children were sent to Sweden from Finland during the war. Some stayed after the war, others moved back, many suffered lifelong trauma.
The Sorrow That Became is a tender story about how actor and director Anna Takanen unravels her father's broken family history. Father Timo came to Sweden in 1942 as a war child, four years old. The father and daughter return to Finland and she makes him tell her more and more until they both realize that war never leaves you alone.
