Songwriter Festival Lund tells 2025

On February 1 from 11 am to 22 pm, the Songwriter Festival Lund tells is organized for the ninth year in a row.
Location: Botulfshörnan in Stadshallen. It is free entry.

This is the unique festival for newly written musical stories where 40 artists offer 80 newly written songs in nine hours.

"Lund tells" begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday with a children's song concert with newly written children's songs performed by last year's winners in the children's song competition and continues at 12.30-21.30 p.m. with newly written stories set to music.

The songwriter festival "Lund tells" is a multicultural musical storytelling festival for newly written self-written stories set to music.

More than 40 songwriters and musicians participate with two self-written new songs per artist.

The musical story is what unites songwriters and music composers from all corners of the earth, regardless of music genre. The most important thing is the text and that it reaches its listener. Some call it singersongwriting and others say.

What the participants have in common is that everyone must perform their own newly written current material, in the form of a story set to music. It can be about life, love, friendship, longing, politics, environment, nature or anything else you want to address and convey. The important thing is that you have something to tell with your music.

The performance is usually simple and stripped down, but can take place in any musical form as long as the content reaches the listener.

This is the ninth consecutive year that "Lund tells" has been carried out in collaboration with Vinterlund. It all started in 2017. It's free entry!

During the day, we also get to meet a number of famous inspirers who sing and talk about their songwriting lives:
Kiki Nllsenius,
subtle showman who delivers slaps with a twinkle in his eye.
Olof Samuelsson,
singer and stand-up artist who with great humor writes songs we all recognize ourselves in, e.g. Helt hopplös and Jag har golmin kod.
Maud Lindstrom,
song singer, song maker as well as course leader and teacher for the students at the Vislinjen at the Nordic Folk High School in Kungälv.
Michael Klinke, one of Denmark's leading songwriters in the singer-songwriter genre.
Michael Saxell, one of Sweden's foremost Swedish and international songwriters with many hundreds of songs and many hits behind him, plays and talks about his long international songwriter life. Wrote, among other things, Fran's winning song in Mello as well as When a girl speaks Skånska and About the sky and Österlen.

The organizer is Visfestivalen i Lund/Föreningen Danish-Swedish music festival, in collaboration with Vinterlund, Kultur Lund, Tora Vega Folk High School in Lund/Åkarp, Vislinjen at the Nordic Folk High School in Kungälv, ABF, Stadshallen in Lund, Torgets Taperia restaurant in Lund, etc.
