In connection with the release of this year's Sommarlund program, we and Malmö Opera offer a happy and light-hearted performance that will burst with color and madness 🎉
For the seventh year in a row, Malmö Opera goes on a truck tour to play musical theater in the streets and squares around early summer Scania. This time with a world premiere!
Virginia Gabriel's operetta The Follies of a Night from 1860, translated and adapted by Rickard Söderberg, is played on the truck bed for the first time ever. In Swedish, it has been named Maskerad. It's a happy and light-hearted show that will be bursting with color and madness (think '1800th century meets Army of Lovers').
We meet the Count and Countess de Chartres, whose marriage is on the wane. Both are looking for kicks on the side, and with the help of a magical potion, completely new possibilities suddenly open up. Conventions and morals are questioned and love is set free. It all ends with complete joy and love.
The event is free and anyone who wants to can stop by and listen for a while, or stay and enjoy the whole show.
Masquerade is the master's students' exam set. At the premiere, they receive their diplomas, and then go on tour as full-fledged opera singers!
Exam set:
The pianist is Elena Jordan Ljungqvist and on stage we see our talented master's students Linnea Nordenback, Viktoria Karlsson, Fredrik Hagerberg and Magnus Lindegård, together with Sebastian Durán.
