Thorsten Laxvik, author of the book "Contagious Generosity - a book about food security" comes to Lund and talks over an evening snack.
Thorsten writes:
“It’s a privilege to travel around with a book about trust. Wise people in the movement ask good questions that I don’t have the answers to.
– Will there be enough food for everyone if we return to sustainable production?
Our agriculture is sustained by borrowed energy, by minerals that are running out, by methods that consume the life-giving soil, by social systems that create alienation in the farmer and seasonality in those who harvest. And on top of that, constant wars - wars over oil, phosphorus and food itself.
So who has the answers?”
Thorsten believes there is no simple agricultural answer to the question. Rather, it is about how we rebuild trust and build new institutions. “I believe that generosity and human dignity are such institutions.”
Skånes Kärngårdsförening is offering an evening sandwich and is arranging it in collaboration with the association Bygga & bo, Lunds Fontänhus and Studiefrämjandet Syd. Free admission.
