The neurological phenomenon of synaesthesia has given rise to both music and visual art throughout the ages. In a synesthete, two or more senses are connected; some can e.g. hear colors, others can see sounds. Odeum has invited the composer Benjamin Staern, himself a synesthete, the doctor Henrik Jörntell and the art historian Max Liljefors to, together with Director musices Patrik Andersson, dig into how the senses can consonate and dissonate against each other. We also get to hear music by Staern, composed precisely with the help of the colors he "hears" in the notes.
