Welcome to the first program in the autumn literature series in Amfi at Stadshallen in Lund. This evening we will get to listen to a literary conversation about truth and consistency between the authors Daniel Rydén and Helena Thorfinn. Daniel Rydén will publish the book in autumn 2024 Lies, the history of untruth and based on it and Helena Thorfinn's In the monk's shadow they talk about truth, untruth and consequences.
Lies, the history of untruth is a book about people who have lied. Some of them are still going on. They have produced lies that have caused public havoc, changed the course of history, or simply helped the liar stay in power. Some of them have lied to save their loved ones, their friends or even their entire people. In the monk's shadow is a novel that spins around the real events of 2017 in Myanmar/Burma where Facebook is accused of being behind the genocide of the Rohingya.
During 2024, Författarcentrum Syd has poetry in focus and the evening's program is framed by poetry. The program begins with a poetry reading by Kristina Sigunsdotter, who is currently working on his second poetry collection Postal Human (2024), post-apocalyptic poetry about the present, the afterlife, ashes and motherhood. The evening ends with a poetic reading by the poet Henry Song.
