Welcome to story time!
Once upon a time there was an old castle… Yes, that is how the tale begins about Jorinda and Joringel who, on their walk in the dark forest, come across an old castle. In the castle lives an old woman who turns out to be a pack of trolls. But why does the pack of trolls have so many bird cages in their castle?
Come and join us for a storytelling session with educator Kristina, where you, the listener, can participate in simple ways.
The folktale that is told is usually called Jorinde and Joringel, and is one of the German folk tales that the Brothers Grimm collected, wrote down and published. This folk tale has also been told in Sweden. The image is taken from Brothers Grimm: Kinder- und Hausmärchen. Max Hesses Verlag, Leipzig, 1907. Illustration: Heinrich Vogeler.
