Roman evening with Lelo Nika Jr. and Hans Caldaras

Romani folk music and jazz with Hans Caldaras & Lelo Nika Jr. Trio at Magle Concert Hall!

Hans Caldara's is a singer, human rights activist and writer who for over 45 years has worked for the vindication of Roma culture in Sweden. He has stubbornly fought to establish Romani music and highlight Romani culture and history in the country. Over the years, he has collected Romani text and music from all over the world; music that he has processed with great love and respect.

In this concert he meets the prize-winning, young accordionist Lelo Nika Jr. - an eighth-generation musician from a long-standing musical family with roots in Serbia. Nika is a world-class virtuoso who, with her accordion, succeeds in conveying sadness as well as pure joy in life. He has a personal tone in his compositions, while the music rests securely in the deep anchoring of previous generations in the Romani tradition. With his trio, Lelo presents music that represents him in a unique way – full of improvisation, unexpected twists and an interplay that usually makes a strong impression on the audience. He has with him his long-standing partner Jesper Nordberg on double bass and the guitarist Branko Jovanović.

The concert is carried out with the support of Lund Municipality.

Admission at 18.30, concert start at 19.00.
