Popstad Lund is a recurring one-night festival with a club where all participating artists and DJs have a Lund connection. After the successful premiere night in September, we are now happy to launch the sequel.
At Popstad Lund – part II on Saturday 29/11, the following acts will perform: REPEAT, FRMZ, I'M KINGFISHER, ROTPULS and FELISH. After the last concert, there will be a club/bar hangout where DJs from DOOLITTLE RECORDS + guests will spin party vinyls from now and then. Guest DJ at the Club this time is DJ JOHAN AGEBJÖRN (SALLY SHAPIRO).
The artists at Popstad Lund may not always be well-known to most people, but that's also the point. If you're curious about discovering new, awesome music, you can always trust that the participating artists are among the best in their musical style.
Popstad Lund can be seen as a bit of a showcase with quick change-overs where the artists get thirty minutes to convince you of their excellence.
In other words: Popstad Lund is a fun full evening where you party with new and old acquaintances of different ages while discovering new music and supporting the local music scene. Could it get any better?
So, secure your ticket today — together we'll make Lund a more festive city!

REPEAT
The duo Torbjörn Hallberg (guitar and vocals) and Johan Holmberg (drums) met each other as sixteen-year-olds at high school in Lund. Since forming Repeat in 2022, they have released two albums and with their raw, melodic punk (think PUP, Toy Dolls, Buzzcocks and early Descendents) they have already made a name for themselves in Europe and have been praised in national and international media such as GAFFA, Hymn, Ox Fanzine and Sweden Rock Magazine.
Repeat are currently on the scene with their new, awesome EP “Celebrate” and this fall they are taking it out on the road for gigs in Sweden, Finland, Germany and the Netherlands. Yes, on a journey that will finally finish at Mejeriet and Popstad Lund – part II.
Fun fact: The cover of the new EP is adorned with a photo taken at Järnåkraskolan around 1980 and one of the tough guys in the picture is a young Torbjörn Hallberg.
FRMZ (Replacing Paros who cancelled due to illness)
The hip-hop collective FRMZ consists of six young guys who study at Spyken and Polhem. They are a tight-knit group who like to hang out with each other and make music together because it's fun. They emphasize that they are not tough guys, but rap about their ordinary lives in Lund.
The homestead has become like a second home for the guys and it is where the gang's producer Fred puts together his old school beats that they then take turns rapping over. It is also where they have recorded all their songs and FRMZ has just released their debut album “Alfa Hill” which features guests from Lund in Paros on a couple of tracks.
After an acclaimed premiere gig together with Welcome To Earth and Paros at Hemgården, FRMZ is now ready to meet the Lund audience at Mejeriet and Popstad Lund.
I'M KINGFISHER
Thomas Jonsson is a singer-songwriter originally from Grums, but who has been stay in Lund for several years. Since 2010, he has been delivering stripped-down Americana/folk-indie with a touch of Nordic melancholy under his alias I'm Kingfisher. He has been praised for his personal, reflective lyrics that balance between melancholy and hope.
To date, there have been five albums and I'm Kingfisher's music has received international attention. In 2021, he won the award for "Singer/Songwriter of the Year" at the Manifestgalan. I'm Kingfisher is constantly up to date with new music and new collaborations, most recently the song
“Rage Quit” together with Lakun.
The collaboration that has had the greatest impact is the song “The Pain Of Happiness” that I'm Kingfisher specially wrote for the film Comedy Queen. He also contributes music and is in a scene in the upcoming feature film The Beekeeper.
Those who have seen I'm Kingfisher live know that his distinctive guitar playing and characteristic voice are something out of the ordinary.
ROOT PULSE
Rotpuls is roots reggae from Skåne with elements of Swedish prog. Together with their friend, inspiration and producer Peps Persson, the Lunda band helped establish reggae in Sweden around 1980.
Over time, Rotpuls has become a cult in reggae circles and after a long, long break, the band's original lineup reunited in 2022 for a gig at the Skånsk Reggae Festival. Since then, they have performed at several of the country's major reggae festivals such as Öland Roots, Österlen Reggae Bash and Hampafestivalen.
Earlier this year, the coveted white label vinyl Peps vs Jah Sparring was released with dub remixes of Peps songs. Tonight, in conjunction with Rotpuls' gig at Popstad Lund - part II, the sequel comes when Doolittle Records releases Rotpuls vs Jah Sparring & Dagens Eko on vinyl in a limited edition.
FELISH
Songwriter/singer/producer Felish, of Swedish and Guinean roots, was born in Lund. However, her music career took off in California, where she studied at the Los Angeles College of Music.
Her musical expression is a mix of indie, R&B, neosoul and afrobeat with shimmering echoes of 80s pop.
Felish is known for his collaborations with American artist Soul Catalyst. Their songs have been a hit on Spotify, to say the least, and the song “Remember You” has been heard in the Netflix series Monarca.
Felish played at Way Out West this summer and now this fall she is currently releasing the single “Be Alright”, which is a teaser for the new album that will be released this spring.
Felish is an interesting artist to say the least and it will be exciting to see her with a band on Mejeriet's stage in December.
DJs: DOOLITTLE RECORDS and DJ JOHAN AGEBJÖRN (SALLY SHAPIRO)
JOHAN AGEBJÖRN
Johan Agebjörn comes from Linköping, but is also now a resident of Lunda. He is a composer, musician and producer with a focus on electronic pop and Italo disco. However, this has not stopped him from occasionally exploring ambient soundscapes, as on his brand new album “Southern Forest” which is inspired by the forests of Småland.
Johan is best known as one half of the dreamy electronic duo Sally Shapiro. The duo had their breakthrough with the album Disco Romance (2007), which was acclaimed worldwide for its nostalgic look back at romantic Italo disco from the early 80s.
Sally Shapiro does not perform live, but Johan sometimes stands behind the turntables as a DJ. He has played at various events and clubs around the world where he mixes classic Italo disco with modern electronic music inspired by the 80s. Johan's next assignment as a DJ will be at Klubben på Popstad Lund – part II.
Fun fact: Johan wrote the song “Hot Boy” for eighties icon Samantha Fox. This is available as a picture disc in tonight's pop-up shop, as well as other records and merchandise related to tonight's artists.
After each gig, the artists are available for meet and greet in the pop-up shop.
