Peter Lundberg, Executive Director of the Raoul Wallenberg Institute, visits the library on Holocaust Remembrance Day to talk about the Holocaust, Raoul Wallenberg's efforts and the institute's work.
International Holocaust Remembrance Day commemorates the innocent people – Jews, Roma, disabled, and more – who were lost in Nazi Germany's extermination camps. The day falls on January 27, the same date that the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp was liberated in 1945. In 2025, 80 years have passed since the liberation.
