There is something obvious about Svart Ridå, with roots in Ronneby, who debuted in 2022 with the EP "18 minutes of your life". The band was formed through an idea and an approach to music creation where music was viewed and handled as a tool to control and provoke the emotions of the listener. This way of looking at music and how Svart Ridå began writing together created a kind of concept, which forms the basis of what the band is.
Svart Ridå has been praised by, among others, PSL, Popmani, Hymn, Gaffa and Sydsvenskan – both for their dark indie pop and for their explosive live performances that are increasingly attracting audiences. Now that their debut album has been released, the duo has become a trio and the sound has developed into even more guitar-based, with audible influences from both the 90s grunge wave and the freer pop music of the 70s. The band dares to face the really big emotions and cautious introductions blossom into epic choruses and solo parts.
