Jakob Hellman made a splash in 1989 when his debut album “… och stora havet” was released. Songs like “Vara vänner” and “Hon har ett sätt” introduced a new way of writing songs in Swedish, with their wordy lyrics and an expression consisting of equal parts naivety and melancholy. With his “… och stora havet”, Jakob Hellman both rewrote the rules of the game for Swedish pop and wrote himself into the history books.
In the fall of 2025, he released his third album and also embarked on a major tour.
