Panel discussion – The power and importance of nature

– How do humans encounter nature in our time?
– What challenges do those who work to strengthen our relationship with the nature on which we are fundamentally dependent face?
– What changes need to happen so that we can live in meaningful balance with what is around us?

Welcome to the panel discussion where we will address these questions and more together with:

Marianne Larsson who works with health and well-being in nature in her company Källarbacken. Among other things, she guides participants in nature experiences that strengthen both body and soul, inspired by Shinrin Yoku (forest bathing).

Mimmi Bissmont who works as an environmental and climate strategist at the Diocese of Lund. The Church of Sweden highlights the spiritual and existential as one of four dimensions of sustainable development. Mimmi's mission includes supporting parishes and pastorates in their sustainability work.

Patrick Bellan who is a tree specialist and plant technician and in Malmö is working to create a greener and more robust city for its residents, today and in the future. For Patrick, proximity to greenery is a matter of justice.

The panel discussion is part of an afternoon on the theme of Nature's importance for existential sustainability at Lund City Hall, arranged by Sensus Studieförbund. Existential sustainability is about humans' relationship to themselves, each other and the nature of which we are all a part. During the afternoon, we explore the topic from different perspectives through panel discussions, art, creativity, film screenings and try-out exercises, all under one roof. You can find the entire program as an event in the calendar.
