Order and eye candy – the world of techner shoes

Welcome to lectures with free entry from 17.45pm!

From 1893 and a bit into the 1930s, thousands of objects in Kulturen's collections were depicted in carefully executed drawings and watercolor paintings on so-called catalog cards. The artists were mainly women. The works were part of the museum order that was required to get an overview of the ever-growing collection of objects. Today they constitute an artistic treasure, but they also give a sense of how people more than a hundred years ago arranged their world around them.

About the lecturer:
Nina Davis is curator at Kulturen and is responsible for the archive, library and photo collection.

In the Auditorium. No pre-booking. Free entry to the talk from 17.45pm. Limited number of places, so please come in good time!

About the Nordenstedt seminar:
The Nordenstedt seminar is organized by Kulturen in Lund and is a series of independent and scientifically anchored lectures with a connection to Kulturen's activities and motto: the forms of human culture in ancient times and the future. The lecturers consist of doctoral staff/doctoral students at Kulturen as well as invited researchers and experts. Each lecture is 60 minutes long, including about 10-15 minutes of question time. The lectures are open to the public, free of charge and do not require registration. We are in the Auditorium, Kulturen's large lecture hall.
