The history of music is filled with works that surprised, shocked, refused or imitated, works that became milestones in history and that still arouse wonder and curiosity to this day. One of these works is that of Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina Miss Pope Marcelli, composed in 1567 and dedicated to Pope Marcellus II.
During the evening, the musicologist and critic Tobias Lund and music director Patrik Andersson turn and twist one of the most central pieces of music of the 1500th century, which from time to time, through its stylistics, was considered to have saved the vocal church music of the time from strict formal requirements. Welcome to an evening where sounding examples are mixed with new entrances in the music and exciting exchanges of ideas!
