UNHEARD: Beethoven's Fifth

Odeum continues its series Unheard of, where musicologist Tobias Lund and music director Patrik Andersson turn and twist particularly interesting, strange or influential works from music history. This time the turn has come to Ludwig van Beethoven's fifth symphony, the so-called The Symphony of Fate, which the Academic Chapel already performs on November 9. How is the music constructed? How have the building blocks been fitted together? What meaning has been attributed to the symphony? In what contexts has it been used by posterity, and what historical significance has it acquired? Welcome to an evening about one of the most central works of Western art music!
