New year, new art at Kliger Gallery! First up is the exhibition "Nostalgia" where the artist Jakob Dziorek exhibits his works painted in oil. In his art, Dziorek strives to capture the lost feel of a bygone era while adding modern queer influences.
- My desire is to evoke a sense of longing back to a time when art was a window to both beauty and mystery, while exploring the complexity of our sexuality and identity. In my still life paintings and anatomy studies, tradition and queer culture merge, and I create a timeless world where the viewer can dream back to a bygone era while reflecting on the diversity that enriches our lives today, he says.
Jakob Dziorek has studied art in both Stockholm and at the Swedish Academy of Realist Art in Simrishamn and over the years has exhibited his art at Skövde Konsthall and Dunkers Kulturshus, among others. In the spring of 2024, he has his first solo exhibition at Kliger Gallery and he is also part of the Spring Salon at Liljevalchs in Stockholm.
Jakob Dziorek is part of the art collective at Kliger Gallery in Lund.
