Nordic Light: Kjell Westö

One of Finland's great storytellers celebrates 40 years as a writer this year. Now comes his new novel Coda.

A few young radical artists want to change Helsinki's art and cultural life in the 80s, but a few decades later the group is part of the establishment, and they themselves are questioned. A story about generations, life choices, losses and successes.

Kjell Westö debuted as a poet in 1986 and had his big breakthrough with Dragons Over Helsinki in 1996. The author's books are often set in Helsinki and are characterized by strong environmental descriptions and historical presence. He has won multiple awards.

He talks to culture journalist Johanna Koljonen.

The author talk is broadcast live via the streaming service Biblioteket Play . The recording will then remain available for one week. Watching is free and you do not need a library card or registration to watch the broadcasts.

This program in the Nordic Light series is a collaboration between the Public Libraries in Lund, the Nordic Association and the cultural activities of the Municipality of Lund.
