Last year marked 80 years since the end of World War II. At the same time, a historic rearmament is currently taking place in the Western world. What can we learn from the wars of the past if we want to prepare for the future?
Experience an evening of powerful film clips, thought-provoking stories and critical reflection. Lecturer Claus Bundgård Christensen shows footage from unique documentaries and talks about how the war was experienced and told in Scandinavia – from different war strategies to truths, myths and images that the films have imprinted in our collective memory.
The lecture is part of the Danish Film Institute's Nordic film project The Nordics on Film.
Claus Bundgård Christensen is an associate professor of history at Roskilde University and one of Denmark's leading experts on World War II. This program in the Nordic Light series is a collaboration between the Public Library in Lund and the Nordic Association.
