About the concert
In a unique concert experience, the legend Janne Schaffer offers, among other things, his own composed music, music by Ted Gärdestad, Björn J:son Lindh and Abba and inaugurates the Monastery's new concert concept "Klosterkraft".
With the Concert Series "Klosterkraft", the congregation of St. Peter's Monastery wants to invite you to unique concert experiences and at the same time demonstrate the power of music to change society. 80% of any surplus goes to Act Svenska Kyrkan.
Artist biography
Janne Schaffer has been part of the Swedish music scene for over 50 years and has participated in about 5000 titles, of which 500 are productions. He has released 27 of his own records, four studio albums, and six compilation albums with the Electric Banana Band. In 2025 he received the Guldplektrumet award from the Icelandic Minister of Culture and on September 24, 2025, on his birthday, he received a plaque stating that his guitar has been featured on over 10 billion Streams worldwide.
Janne has also written the music for five films and a theater performance, and in the spring of 2026 the film The Beekeeper will premiere, which will be the sixth film that Janne has composed as a film composer.
Janne Schaffer co-founded the Ted Gärdestad Memorial Fund in 1999, together with Kenneth Gärdestad and Richard Arvidsson. Schaffer is also involved in the Albin Hagström Memorial Fund at the Royal Swedish Academy of Music. He has initiated and financed the J:son Scholarship for 11 years for young instrumentalists and last year he started the Schaffer Scholarship for young guitar-playing composers.
