Music on a summer evening
MIRACLES OF OUR LADY
Songs about the Virgin Mary & stories about Marian miracles
contribute:
Karin Lagergren, vocals
Emelie Roos, Recorder
Dohyo Sol, Luta
About the program:
The Virgin Mary is the most sung woman of the Middle Ages and was often called Our Lady. In this program, songs by the 1200th-century French monk Gautier de Coincy (1177-1236) are performed. The songs are interleaved with stories about Marian miracles from the Swedish Middle Ages, such as the miracle of Our Lady's skirt and the miracle of the knight and jousting.
