Theater In-Balance invites you to attend an open day of theater and performances, a glimpse of works in progress and fragments of drama played out on stage, by a selection of artists whom Theater In-Balance has been collaborating with this year during our residency at Stenkrossen, Lund. This is the second year in a row Theater In-Balance is hosting this our enormously enjoyable multilingual theater Festival OPEN STAGE.
WHO ARE WE?
Theater In-Balance is a Swedish/French theater company based in Malmö/Lund and Paris, specializing in cross-border object theatre, mask and physical theater combined with storytelling, using a pro-ecological, gender-fluid and peace art perspective. We have been active in Sweden since 2013 and are run by our artistic director Marana Araoz who teaches mask and her unique theater method at prestigious national drama schools all over the world, including at Teaterhögskolan Malmö.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Entrance to the Festival is free. Come watch separate pieces in English, Swedish and snippets of other languages, by an eclectic and talented collection of highly experienced, independent and fringe theater performers and actors based in southern Sweden.
You also get to observe the established ©In-Balance Method demonstrated on stage by our new drama lab participants from 2025 and possibly a fragment of staged work and rehearsals in progress by Theater In-Balance – all on the theme of THE HOUSE / THE ODYSSEY.
The different performances, lasting from only a few minutes each to c. 20 minutes each, will take place for a small audience and for each other, on the large stage in the black box theater Byghallen, at Stenkrossen.
Throughout our residency at Stenkrossen in 2025, under the artistic direction of Mariana Araoz, who has led a series of workshops, master classes and labs this year in Lund, inspiration has been gained by working with this theme of "the house" and "the odyssey".

Showcased pieces have all been created and devised by independent fringe theater performers and artists separately and have not been curated. We at Theater In-Balance are delighted to give these independent and ambitious, experienced stage performers, theater artists and actors in Sweden, the opportunity to try out their work in front of a curious audience in a supportive, creative low-key environment.

*Theatre In-Balance is a member of Teatercentrum and we are grateful for support gained over the years from the Culture Council, Danscentrum Södra, the City of Lund, Region Skåne, the City of Paris and more. Throughout the year we hold Labs for professionals, master classes and also tour and perform with our repertoire performances, such as FORES(T)EMPEST, LADY MACBETH and more. We also love to collaborate with interesting cultural collaborators in the region, including Skillinge Teater, Danscentrum, Playmate Theater Malmö, Karavan, Fri Vux and more.
