My pen has teeth is a representation of the Arab hip-hop scene that has created beautiful and poetic visions for a new Arab identity since the Arab Spring. In this installation and performance, we give it a new form through traditional Arab instruments, composition, video and spoken word.
Egyptian hip-hop artist Yukka participates in the performance in close collaboration with Swedish actor and musician Agnes Kofoed Christianson and Muhammad Ismail on Arabic instruments. Composition and sound design are by composer Alexandra Nilsson, filmmaker Marika Heidebäck has created the video scenography and Malin Färdig and Nouri Al Jassim have translated the lyrics. Documentary filmmaker Cecilia Josefson is responsible for the concept and direction.
The performance has free admission and is performed in Arabic, Swedish and English.
