Microforests in cities

Stadsskogsgruppen Malmö is organizing a conference regarding the impact and function of urban forests for biodiversity and human existence now in Lund AFborgen Gustafscenen, on 21st August 2024 at 13.00-17.00. The conference will contain a number of different presenters, including from the Skåne County Administrative Board, Lund University, OakCounsultants, the Lund Nature Conservation Association, and the Malmö Nature Conservation Association. They will contribute knowledge and expertise in their subject areas.

These areas include:

• The development of green infrastructure and ecosystem services in Skåne County
• Native planting versus exotic planting in green areas impact on wildlife,
• Experience and knowledge of the Miyawaki method with the Tiny forests establishment in the Netherlands,
• The history and ecology of the Skåne deciduous forest,
• The Mikroskog project in Malmö

Register for the conference at the following link and there is a link for the program for the event. Coffee and drinks will be served on site and registration will take place on site. If interested, simple notes from the presentations can be sent to those interested.
