The University Library is showing an exhibition about food. A theme that in some way touches us all. The exhibition shows how food has been both a scarce commodity and an abundance throughout history.
The University Library has combed through its rich collections and presented books, everyday prints, posters and photos on the theme of food. You can see a two-thousand-year-old Egyptian papyrus describing a theft of wheat bread and a poster with the well-known bread propaganda of the 1970s.
The exhibition also includes a letter signed by the father of potatoes, Jonas Alströmer, ration cards from the First World War and the first edition of the Swedish classic Seven Kinds of Cakes from 1945 and much more.
Warmly welcome to experience Food in need and want in the library's exhibition hall!
