Magnus Carlson

After the great success of the album "The long way home" and subsequent tour, it is now clear that Magnus Carlson is heading out on the road again. This time together with Jesper Lindell and his band.

Magnus Carlson, who for decades fronted Weeping Willows, had success with "The long way home" in 2017 - the album was praised in the media and went straight to the top of the charts. This was followed by a sold-out club tour and an extensive summer tour around the country. Now, after careful consideration and searching for the right musicians, Magnus has found what he was looking for for his new project.
- I have long planned to make new soulful music in Swedish. It just took me a while to figure out how and with which musicians. Last spring I had the chance to see Jesper Lindell and his band in Gothenburg. The concert was superb and the band wonderful! I was also invited on stage and together we sang The Temptation's song "My Girl". Right then and there, I knew I had found the people I wanted to make my new record with. And the band wanted to make music with me too, says Magnus Carlson.
Jesper Lindell and his band are in an intense period with a series of singles, an EP and no less than two albums. In January 2022, the album "Twilights" was released, which was praised in the Swedish and international press. With over a hundred gigs in Sweden and around Europe since the release of Twilight in March 2022, Jesper Lindell and his band are establishing themselves as some of Europe's hottest on the rock and soul scene - with a reputation for being perhaps Sweden's most organic and best live bands right now.
After some time in Jesper Lindell's studio Brunnsvik Sounds in Dalarna, the album is recorded as Magnus has wanted to do for so long. This autumn the music is ready to be released and together they go on tour with a mix of new and old songs.
- It's soul, country and soulful country in Swedish. Familiar yet exotic. It's Brunswick, Tennessee. Or Memphis, Dalarna. The album will be released this autumn and then the whole gang will finally go on tour. It will be so much fun and good, says Magnus Carlson.
- It has been very inspiring and instructive to work and record with such a classically good artist and superb singer as Magnus, concludes Jesper Lindell. The days up here in Brunnsvik have been very productive and creatively magical. We are all very proud of the music we have created. The band and I are very much looking forward to taking the music on the road with Magnus this fall!
